20 March 2026 | Morning Assembly
Mhlatane High School recently hosted an impact and informative morning assembly focused on psycho-social support and student well-being. The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of caring for vulnerable learners while promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
The presentation was led by Miss G. Dlamini from the Commercial Department, working alongside the school’s Guidance and Counselling psycho-social support team. Addressing both students and staff, she highlighted common challenges faced by learners, including stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and difficulties at home. She emphasised that a learner’s mental and emotional well-being plays a crucial role in their ability to succeed academically.
A key message of the session was the importance of kindness, empathy, and collective responsibility. Students were encouraged to support one another and to speak up if they or their peers are experiencing difficulties. The school reassured learners that strong support systems are in place, and that teachers are always available to offer guidance and care.
Practical self-care strategies were also shared, equipping students with tools to maintain their well-being and build healthy friendships. Learners were reminded that seeking help is a sign of strength and that no one should feel alone.
